Session title and presenter name - Making it happen with Moviemaker by Jim and Courtney White
From this session, what information made a lasting impression? The presenters gave a step-by-step presentation very similar to how you would present it to your students when getting started. They also gave us time to make our own movie before the session was over; it is always helpful to see how long it would take to make a simple project.
How will you use this information as a teacher? (Productivity tool? Instructional tool?) This information is great to show teachers another way to do a multimedia project with their students. I would also be useful to make instructional "pre-teach" videos for classroom use.
How will your students use this information? (What kind of learning activity?) I can see this used in many different ways such as living book reports or a persuasive speech
What kind of product will be produced from this type of educational handheld activity? Movie file
How will you assess the student-created product? The movies can be projected with the media cart, viewed on a laptop, or on a palm.
What roadblocks are currently in place that would prevent you from doing this in your classroom? Moviemaker runs in Windows XP (or higher) environment, we are not migrated yet.
